A major

You are fascinated by the problems that face citizens of the United States, such as determining the appropriate level of government involvement in economic and social affairs.

At Bryant, Economics with a focus on Public Policy will give you the interdisciplinary skills to understand economic, social, and political issues, and the tools necessary to formulate new policies and evaluate existing ones. In addition, this course of study will help you learn to think critically and to apply ethics to decision making.

The Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics will provide you with the knowledge to explore and understand human behavior; contemporary social issues such as poverty, discrimination, and economic justice; history; culture; and international relations. 

Future careers, post-grad opportunities

Your public policy education at Bryant also opens up career opportunities in professions in law, business, government, and non-governmental agencies. You will be well prepared for graduate studies in public policy, law, economics, and business.

Economics faculty

Faculty represent a wide range of expertise in areas such as health care, the public sector, international trade and economic development, labor and industrial organization, teaching methods, and human capital development. Their applied research and publications cover immigration and wage discrimination, market freedom and government intervention, forecasting, and health care market and policy, among others. Faculty serve as consultants to both private and public enterprises in the New England region, as well as international organizations such as the World Bank of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
