  • Project Director of U.S. Department of State Grant with Bryant College, Suffolk University, and European Humanities University, Minsk, Belarus, 1997-2000.
  • Project Director, Higher Education Support Program, Open Society Institute, Summer School on Collaborative Learning at a Distance, Minsk, Belarus, Summer 1999.
  • Chair, Goff Institute for Ingenuity and Enterprise Studies of the the Rhode Island Historical Society, 1999-present.
  • Recipient of James Madison Prize, 1994, awarded by the Society for History in the Federal Government for article, "'To the Rescue of the Crops': The Women's Land Army during World War II," Prologue 25:346-361.
  • Recipient of Bryant College Research and Publication Award, 1997; Bryant College Herstory Award, 1996; Bryant College Alumni Distinguished Faculty Member Award, 1989; and Bryant College Faculty Federation Distinguished Faculty Member Award, 1988.
  • Invited lecturer at universities throughout the United States, Europe, and China.
  • Author of 11 books and over 100 articles, book chapters, and reviews.
