A look at unemployment in Rhode Island
This New York Times Business Day video explores Rhode Island's slide into high unemployment. Included in the feature is an interview with Edinaldo Tebaldi, assistant professor of economics and director of Bryant's Center for Global and Regional Economic Studies. He noted that the recession caused a fundamental shift in some important sectors of the state's exonomy, including construction and housing. Construction workers lost their jobs and are finding it very hard to get jobs in other sectors of the economy, he said.
His remarks begin at 18:35.
