Bryant ranked among top 10 schools for career and job placement

The Amica Center for Career education is ranked number nine by The Princeton Review.

The Amica Center for Career Education at Bryant is among the top 10 university career and job placement services in the country, according to the 2008 edition of The Princeton Review’s annual “Best 366 Colleges.”

Bryant’s career center is ranked #9. The others in the top 10 are: University of Texas at Austin, University of Notre Dame, Pennsylvania State University-University Park, Clemson University, Sweet Briar College, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Southwestern University, Smith College, and Cornell University.

The 2008 edition of the book, which was released late last month, noted that the Amica Center for Career Education helps get “future executives … on a career fast-track.” Of Bryant’s 2006 surveyed graduates, 98.5 percent were employed or enrolled in a graduate program within six months of commencement.

Judith Clare, director of the center, and her staff are thrilled with the ranking. “The fact that the ranking is based on interviews with students makes the honor particularly special,” she says.

The center “is committed to offering a comprehensive corporate recruiting program – currently at 450-plus companies – to its seniors,” Clare said. “We also provide many opportunities for Bryant students to explore career options, such as networking with alumni and site visits, which make the center a valuable resource.

“Our mission is to provide our students with the skills and knowledge to manage their careers for a lifetime,” adds Clare. “This is a priority at Bryant University.”

The rankings are based on The Princeton Review’s survey of 120,000 students (an average of 325 per campus) attending the 366 colleges included in the book. The 80-question survey asked students to rate their schools and report on their campus experiences. An institution’s appearance on the list is attributable to a high consensus among its surveyed students.
