Applied Statistics (Statistics)
A Concentration and Minor
Statistics refers to the collection, analysis, and presentation of data. The information gathered from statistics drives everything from sports to science to psychology to weather.
The Applied Statistics concentration requires six courses, and is available to complement a primary concentration in the College of Business or a major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Applied Statistics minor requires four courses and is available to all students, except for Actuarial Math majors.
Studying Applied Statistics or Statistics at Bryant
Many disciplines are dependent on the information provided by statistics. The study of Applied Statistics at Bryant allows students to deepen and extend their knowledge and skills in statistics and enhance their ability to solve more complex quantitative problems.
Students who choose the Applied Statistics concentration may also earn the SAS Certificate in data mining. Four courses are required for the certification: SAS Programming and Applied Statistics; Applied Data Mining; Applied Multivariate Statistics and one of the following: Applied Analytics using SAS or Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiments.
The mathematics faculty are experienced teachers and researchers. Many students have benefited from their knowledge and skills to clarify complex mathematical principles and how to apply them to real life.
