French
A Minor
French is one of the official languages of the United Nations and is spoken by over 200 million people throughout the world.
The French minor offers an advanced level of proficiency in the language, as well as a strong understanding of the cultures of France and French-speaking societies. Four courses are required for the minor and is available to all students.
Studying French at Bryant
The ability to speak another language not only opens doors when visiting or working in French-speaking countries, but it also offers cultural insights that can expand personal perspectives. French is the language of government, law, management, and business in many regions of the international community.
In addition to language proficiency, the French minor offers insights into the cultural and artistic contributions of France and French-speaking countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada, and the Caribbean.
Courses
Students in the French minor must complete the following minor requirements:

Reading and Writing

One (1) 400 level advanced French course

Two (2) additional French courses - one (1) may be at the 200 level and at least one (1) at the 300 or 400 level

Six credits must be earned at Bryant University
