International Business
A Major and Minor
Society – and business – has become increasingly global as a result of technology and the improved understanding and appreciation of different cultures. The breaking down of borders requires students to look beyond national boundaries and embrace global thinking and action.
The Bachelor of Science in International Business degree (BSIB) includes nine courses of in-depth study in international business. The program also offers concentrations in accounting, computer information systems, entrepreneurship, finance, management, or marketing.
The International Business minor requires four courses which offer a broad understanding of issues faced by companied engaged in international business.
Studying International Business at Bryant
Increased globalization has created a demand for multicultural awareness and aptitude, an emphasis on the international dimensions of business, and sensitivity to ethical issues that cross cultures.
The International Business degree is an inter-disciplinary program that offers students a strong theoretical foundation in international business and its practical application. A global perspective, critical to success in the global business arena, will be enhanced through extensive internationally focused course work in both business and liberal arts. Students are also required to minor in a foreign language, as well as participate in an international academic experience. The experience of another culture is a critical part of understanding and appreciating international differences – and similarities.
In addition, Bryant’s program is one of the few in the country that offers concentrations in business functions, resulting in students that have both broad exposure to international business issues as well as a depth of understanding of a particular field of business. The program also integrates many of the resources offered by The John H. Chafee Center for International Business.
