The Department of English and Cultural Studies offers the following programs:

Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Literary and Cultural Studies

The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Literary and Cultural Studies includes 10 courses that offer students the opportunity to hone interpretive skills as they study a wide range texts and practices: literature, the visual arts, performance, music, philosophy, religion, popular culture, cross-cultural exchange, and more.

Literary and Cultural Studies concentration

The Literary and Cultural Studies concentration requires six courses that emphasize the study of literature in its many forms. Students must have a primary concentration in the College of Business or a major in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Literary and Cultural Studies minor

The minor in Literary and Cultural Studies is designed to foster and sustain a cultural background based upon the mastery of those literary and cultural texts and methods that inform the world of the modern citizen. Students design their minor in accordance with their own interests in consultation with their program advisor.

Professional and Creative Writing minor

Students pursuing a minor in Professional and Creative Writing develop their writing skills in a variety of settings designed to provide a full exploration of genres. Options include feature writing for magazines and the web, newspaper journalism, and creative writing in poetry and fiction.
