Emma Calvet (Global major) internship at the State Department is latest step toward career goal of diplomat.

Michael Edwards (Global concentrator, Pols/Lgls minors) succeeds at Roger Williams Law School.

Jason Fortin (Global major) interns at the Brookings Institute, participated in a ten-week international internship at the prestigious Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing (See his blog) conducts history research in China (read his blog) then presents research at U.S.-China Institute Seminar Series and at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research.

Katie Gorham (Global major) wins senior Good Citizen award, wins Herstory award, leads Amnesty International Trip to women's shelter in Peru (trip blog); earlier trip to Peru for service learning, leads Amnesty International letter writing.

Monika Sattler (Global major) pursues a Master’s in Security Studies, at top rated Georgetown University.

Nicole White (Global concentrator) uses her skills in public service.

Caitlyn Witkowski (Global concentrator) travels to China to conduct research on climate change and Mongolian culture.

 

History

Lisa DiNapoli (History) completes documentary film telling the story of Girl Scouts of Rhode Island. Wins Herstory Award. 

Jillian Emberg and Jessica Komoroski (History) present research on the history of influential women at Bryant. See their research.

Jessica Komoroski authored, “The Life and Times of Gertrude Meth Hochberg,”  for her 2011 Senior Honors Capstone Project.. Hochberg  was Bryant’s first female vice president and visionary leader for women’s rights.  Komoroski  presented her  research at the dedication of the Bryant University Gertrude Meth Hochberg Women’s Center in March 2011.

Madeleine Lux and Amanda Zagame's research on wartime home economist Sylvia Brooklyn Denhoff was presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research held at Ithaca College in New York and featured in the Providence Journal.

Kurt Spear (History concentrator) studying the people and relationships in history with plans for an MBA and law school.

Margaret Wong, Bakhtiyar Baidaralin, Ryan Richter, and Jason Fortin blogged on a three-week research trip to China with Professor of History Judy Barrett Litoff and Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences David Lux to explore the history, language, and culture of the country.  During the trip, they began work on a series of "Follow Me" video segments to bring authentic Chinese history, culture,  and language back to classrooms of K-12 schools in southern New England.

Antonio Diaz-Albertini (Lgls minor) graduated magna cum laude from the Syracuse University College of Law

Hector Paulino (Lgls/Pols minors) plans to pursue career in law. Spends Spring Break with Bryant volunteers in the Dominican Republic.

Mitch Trek (Lgls Minor) heads to Rutgers Law School confident in his preparation.

Elicia Wilson (Lgls minor) interested in corporate law. Named Greek Woman of the Year. Succeeding at Suffolk Law School.

Joe Becker (PLW major) enrolled in a graduate program in management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Kevin Dobbs (PLW major) has an interest in public service and national security issues.

Arianna McLaughlin (PLW major) wins "Outstanding Attorney" award in leading Bryant Mock Trial.

Tom Pagliarini (PLW major, History concentrator) conducts history research in China (read his blog) then presents research at U.S.-China Institute Seminar Seriesdebates against Cambridge Union Debaters, wins business competition award.

Joe Robertson (PLW major) heads to Syracuse University’s elite Master’s of Public Administration

Kaitlin Sidorsky (PLW Major) takes Presidential class including Obama's Inauguration goes on SIE trip to Italy

Norman Duquette (Pols minor) wins award for campus involvement. Co-Chairs senior gift committee.

Merry Le (Pols minor) works for Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. Completed internship at the Environmental Protection Agency through The Washington Center.

Brian Robinson (Pols minor) plans to be a leader of community groups. Wins campus involvement award.

 

Sociology

Anthony Bailey (Sociology major) works for Heads Up, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization.

Joe D’Ambrose (Sociology major) opens his own website design company.

Kim Franklin (Sociology) started an afterschool sports program for her service learning project. Travels to New Zealand. Leads Student Programing Board.

David Greco (Sociology minor) is a community living manager for a developmental disabilities agency in and pursuing a master’s degree in human services with a concentration in special education.

Daniel Hackenson (Sociology) discusses work done in Sociology Service Learning course.

Robert Harvey (Sociology major, Pols minor) plans graduate work at Harvard Divinity School and a career bettering society. President of Student Senate speaks at Convocation. Speaks at Interfaith Prayer breakfast.

Micaela Maynard (Sociology major) took her skills to DePaul University as an Americorps Volunteer. Developed brochure for families of ACI prisoners.

Caitlin Ryan (Sociology major) is the recruiting assistant at an investment consulting firm.

Randy Trickett (Sociology minor) becomes director of student activities at the Lexington Prep School.

Lindsey Weber (Sociology concentrator) Honors project focuses on first-generation college students.

Sandra Enos leads students in service learning making a difference outside the classroom; is highlighted as a professor all students should take; honored with the “Michelle Norris Award,” a prestigious community award from Children’s Friend and Service; leads Bryant to recognition of Presidential Honor Role for Community Service.

Nicole Freiner uses her experiences in Japan to bring depth to her classes.

Richard Holtzman works with the Bryant Institute for Public Leadership; is highlighted as a professor all students should take; recognized with Bryant's top Excellence in Teaching Award; leads students in course and trip on President Obama's Inauguration.
