For more than 40 years, Stan Davis, prominent author, consultant, and speaker on the future of business has researched and documented the big shifts in science, technology, markets, and organization as they play out on business strategy and implementation. His consulting clients have included senior executives at Apple, AT&T, Bank of America, KPMG, Marriott, MercedesBenz, MetLife, and Sun Microsystems. Davis has written or edited more than 13 books, with collective sales of more than one million copies in 15 languages. He coined the term "mass customization" in the 1980s in his bestseller, Future Perfect, which won the Tom Peters’ “Book of the Decade” Award. Other books include the bestselling Blur (with Chris Meyer), as well as 2020 Vision (will Bill Davidson), Future Wealth (with Chris Meyer), It’s Alive: The Convergence of Information, Biology, and Business (with Chris Meyer), and The Art of Business. His articles have appeared in Forbes, TIME, Harvard Business Review, and many international business magazines. Davis spent two decades on the faculties of the Harvard Business School, Columbia University, and Boston University before becoming an independent consultant.
As Deputy U.S. Trade Representative, Demetrios Marantis is responsible for U.S. trade negotiations and enforcement in Asia and Africa. He also leads U.S. Trade Representative global initiatives on trade and development, labor, and the environment. Marantis previously worked as chief international trade counsel for the Senate Finance Committee and served as issues director for U.S. Senator John Edwards on the KerryEdwards 2004 presidential campaign. Before joining the campaign, he spent two years in Hanoi as chief legal advisor for the U.S.Vietnam Trade Council, where he provided technical assistance on international trade matters. From 1998 to 2002, Marantis was associate general counsel in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, where he negotiated provisions of international trade agreements, including the U.S.Singapore and U.S.Chile Free Trade Agreements, and represented the United States in World Trade Organization dispute settlement proceedings, including the U.S.Mexico dispute on telecommunications. Marantis also worked for five years in the Washington, D.C., and Brussels, Belgium, offices of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an A.B. in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University. |
