The staff in the Undergraduate Advising Office is committed to providing high quality academic advising and registration services to all undergraduate students, assisting them in the development of their educational plans. To carry out this mission, the staff has identified a set of core principles by which we operate.
  • To help students develop an educational plan consistent with their life goals and objectives
  • To monitor students' progress toward identified goals and objectives
  • To provide academic support through various initiatives and campus-wide programs
  • To design, develop, and deliver registration activities to support a wide range of undergraduate academic programs
  • To interpret and administer University policies and procedures
  • To aid students in the pursuit of various avenues of study
  • To support students in their quest for academic excellence
  • To refer students to relevant academic, social, and personal resources
The Undergraduate Advisors subscribe to the philosophy that academic advising is a collaboration among the faculty, professional advisors and students. Students are encouraged to become active participants in the advising process and to share responsibility for clarifying goals and educational planning. Faculty and academic advisors are available to assist students in this endeavor.
