The Undergraduate Advising Office is dedicated to enhancing your academic and personal experience through a partnership of shared goals and responsibilities. The Undergraduate Academic Advising Program All students are assigned an academic advisor from the Undergraduate Advising Office. Advisor assignments are based on your enrollment in Foundations for Learning (FFL), a first-year experience course designed to help you make a successful transition to college and “claim your education”. Your academic advisor will visit your FFL course for an introduction and to discuss advising services. Find out more about the Advising Staff. Your academic progress is one of our highest priorities. Here are some tips for Preparing for your Appointment. In addition to meeting with students one-on-one, your Academic Advisor will provide semester updates and important information through e-mail and Blackboard. Email - Checking your Bryant University e-mail account is crucial in order to ensure that you are aware of important dates during the semester, such as the deadlines for adding and dropping classes or dates for registration. Blackboard - Blackboard is an online resource that allows students and professors to communicate information with each other. Many of the professors use Blackboard as a place to post course syllabi and assignments. Academic Advisors use Blackboard as a way to post announcements for upcoming events on campus as well as important dates to be aware of. In addition, links to important resources are provided.Students should be checking their Academic Advising Blackboard at least once a week. You should meet with your advisor at least one time each semester. You are encouraged to meet with your advisor more often if you have questions or concerns about your progress. The best way to make an appointment is to call the Undergraduate Advising Office at 232-6210 or stop by the office in MRC 201 and make the appointment in person. Advising is a partnership. Given this, you should plan for your advising meetings – we will!
