Junior Year - Refine Your GoalsWelcome to your junior year at Bryant University! This is an exciting time as you begin to look ahead at the wonderful opportunities that await you beyond Bryant. It is also a critical time to reexamine your current educational plan to see if it remains consistent with your interests and life goals. Finalizing your Academic PlansMajor/Concentration As a junior, you should have officially declared your major/concentration by now. If you have not, do so during the first week of the semester through a meeting with your academic advisor. Minor You may be asking yourself, what minor options do I have and which minor(s) would work well with my major/concentration? It is important to work through these questions with your academic advisor or faculty in your area of interest. Having a minor can enhance your academic experience and may provide more professional opportunities. Take the time to explore the areas of study available to you. The official declaration of your minor(s) and second concentrations or majors must be done during your junior year. The “Minor Declaration Form” can be picked up during a meeting with your academic advisor. Even if you have declared your major(s)/concentration(s) and minor(s), it is beneficial to be asking yourself:
At this point, in order to make sure you are on the track and reaching your personal goals, you should be having regular, ongoing conversations with your academic advisor and the faculty members in your area of interest. Planning and learning are lifelong processes. Never stop exploring your options, whether they are academic, social or professional.
