SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2009
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Graduation Fair - Rotunda
 Graduates are strongly encouraged to attend this event, where they will have the opportunity to purchase academic regalia, order a yearbook, check for any holds on their accounts, sign up to receive Bryant's alumni newsletter, and obtain information about activities related to Commencement.
Undergraduate Commencement Information Session - Janikies
Undergraduate students are required to attend one Commencement Information Session in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. The sessions take approximately 30-45 minutes and are offered at 11 AM, 2 PM, 3:30 PM, 5 PM, and 6:30 PM. This meeting is in lieu of a practice graduation ceremony and is designed to provide information about the ceremony itself to graduating seniors. Please note: Students will be issued guest tickets after attending one of the sessions.
THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2009
4:00 p.m. - Graduate School Line-up - Rotunda
All Graduate Students should report to the Rotunda for line-up wearing caps and gowns.
5:00 p.m. - Graduate School Commencement - Main Tent
Guest seating will begin at 4:00 p.m. Guests are asked to be seated by 4:30 p.m. The procession will begin at 4:45 p.m. The ceremony will start at 5:00 p.m. and should last for approximately 1 hour. Immediately following the ceremony a reception will be held in the Stepan Grand Hall. All graduates and guests are welcome to attend.
FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2009
4:00 p.m. - Baccalaureate Service - Rotunda
This is an interfaith ceremony of thanksgiving for graduates, as well as their families and friends, which is led by Bryant chaplains and features music, readings, and reflection. Graduating seniors do not wear their caps and gowns to this event and may sit with their families.
5:00 p.m. - President's Reception - Salmanson Dining Hall
President and Mrs. Machtley welcome all graduates, families, and friends to this special reception for the Class of 2009. Honorary degree recipients, trustees, faculty members, and staff will also be in attendance. This is an opportunity for graduating seniors to informally gather with professors and other members of the Bryant community who have played a part in their education. Refreshments will be served, and a cash bar will be available. The reception concludes at 6:30 p.m. to permit graduates and their families to enjoy dinner off campus.
SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2009
9:00 a.m. - Graduate Line-Up - Academic Hall
All Graduates should report wearing cap, gown, and hood to their specified area in Academic Hall. Graduates should also bring their graduation name card that was distributed during the Commencement Information Meetings in April.
10:00 a.m. - Undergraduate Commencement - Main Tent
The Commencement tent, which is located behind the Bryant Center, will open at 7:30 a.m. Each graduate will be issued five tickets for admission to the tent (see ticket information on in the FAQ section of this site). Guests are asked to be seated by 9:15 a.m. The procession of graduates begins at 9:30 a.m.; the ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at approximately 12:30 p.m. For safety and comfort of all guests we ask that you remain seated at all times while in the tent. The tent provides protection from the elements but not from temperature, so please dress accordingly.
 Additional guests are welcome to campus on graduation day and several viewing options are available. The entire ceremony is broadcast live on Channel 71 of the Bryant Cable System and can be seen on any campus television, including rooms in the residence halls and townhouses. Commencement can also viewed live online by following the link at www.bryant.edu/graduate. Bryant provides viewing locations in several large venues on campus, including the Rotunda, Janikies Theatre, South Dining Hall, and the lobby of Hall 16.
12:30 p.m. - Welcome Reception for New Alumni - George E. Bello Center
Graduates and their guests are invited to mingle and enjoy light refreshments. Diplomas can also be picked up in the Wellness Center Lobby until 2:00 p.m.
3:00 p.m. - Student housing closes for the Spring 2009 term
