Media Portals

Below are links to a collection of media portals available to the Bryant University Community.  The brief descriptions next to each one will highlight the features of each.

SCOLA – Is a non-profit educational organization that receives and re-transmits television programming from around the world in native languages. These programs are available via satellite, cable TV and the Internet to students of language study, ethnic communities, and anyone seeking a global perspective.  SCOLA currently provides six 24/7 channels of programming.

V-Brick – Is an exciting peek into the digital future of media at Bryant University.  It hosts four live cable TV channels that are encoded and transited across the campus computer network along with a library of several hundred educational and self produced titles on a variety of subjects.  This system is only available on campus via a wired network connection due to the extremely high bandwidth requirements of the video streams.

MediaSite Live – A collection of recorded presentations and events on campus along with some training materials.  This unique system allows for the capture of both video and a VGA feed (usually in the form of Power Point slides) to create a rich media experience for the viewer.  This system is accessible from both on and off campus.
