John M. DeShaw, Jr. Memorial John DeShaw, Jr. '97 was an 18 year old Bryant freshman marketing major who died as a result of injuries he suffered in a fall in Residence Hall 15 on March 4, 1994.While at Bryant John was a member of the intramural hockey team. After his death over $40,000 was raised to purchase a memorial bench and stone marker, and to establish a scholarship awarded annually to a Bryant sophomore. The stone marker reads: 
"Dedicated to the memory of John DeShaw, Jr.
