2009 STUDY TRIP TO CHINA

Dates: July 21 to August 1, 2009
Location: Beijing, Chengde in Hebei province, and Inner Mongolia

High school and college student participants and teacher participants of 2009 STARTALK Chinese Language and Culture Summer Program will have the opportunity to travel to China to visit historical sites such as the Great Wall and Forbidden City in Beijing, experiencing authentic Chinese culture at the imperial Mountain Resort and its outlying temples in Chengde, and exploring diverse landscapes and ethnic traditions in the Inner Mongolia in northern China.

The trip will be subsidized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in Beijing. The estimated cost of the trip for each participant is $2,200 to cover the international air fare, visa application fee and program fees. The accommodation and food in China will be funded from other sources.

Tentative travel dates are July 20 through August 1. Information session will be on Thursday, May 21st at 5:30pm Bryant Center Room 2AB (2nd floor) at Bryant University. (Bryant Center is building #8 on the campus map)
