The career staff at Bryant holds memberships in: the International Careers Consortium (ICC), National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), Cooperative Education & Internship Association (CEIA), Colleges of Worcester Consortium (COWC) and the Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors (NAPLA). They enjoy working with students and alumni to help them succeed in a career they can feel passionate about.

Judith Clare has been Director of the Amice Center for Career Education for 15 years. Prior to that she was an Assistant Director at Bryant and a career counselor at Stonehill College. In addition, she served on the faculty teaching courses in business communications and public speaking at Providence College and UMASS Dartmouth.

Judy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant University and a Masters in Education and CAGS degree from Rhode Island College. She is a graduate of NACE Management Leadership Institute at University of Richmond and Leadership Rhode Island.

Judy has authored many articles, has published a textbook on "Business Communications" and has served as a presenter at many regional and national conferences.

As Manager of the Recruiting Program, Kathy Clarkin works primarily with graduating seniors in their job search process and/or planning for graduate school. Kathy coordinates the on-campus and off campus recruiting program with employers and students, as well as the annual career fair, workshops and special events.  

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Masters Degree in Counseling and Higher Education, Kathy has extensive experience in career advising, programming and employer relations. Kathy was previously at Providence College as director of career planning and internship services and as a placement counselor.  Her advice to seniors is to be proactive and take advantage of the many services and resources designed to help them succeed in their transition from Bryant to the workplace.

Barbara Gregory, Associate Director/Academic Internship Coordinator, has been a member of the Amica Center for Career Education since 1994.  Previously she served students in the career development offices at Providence College and Brown University.  

Barbara earned a Masters Degree in Education and Counseling at SUNY New Patlz and a Bachelors Degree in Education with a minor in Sociology at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. She has been a member of CEIA for 10 years, serving both as VP of Professional Development and Region One Director. Barbara enjoys advising the Bryant University Synchronized Figure Skating Team as well as volunteering at the Stadium Theater in Woonsocket, RI.

Jennifer Edwards, Senior Assistant Director/Manager of Career Education, has over 23 years experience in the career services field. Prior to coming to Bryant in 2000, she served as a Director of Career Services at Misericordia University and Assistant Director at Bucknell University. Other areas she has worked include Non-profit Management, Retail Management and work for the US Dept. of Education on a pilot program for learning disabled college students.  She has a Master of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Bonaventure University.

Jennifer counsels students of all levels, plans and presents a variety of programs and workshops and teaches a career planning course. Outside of the Career Center, Jennifer is an instructor for Foundations for Learning and is involved in committee work for the Student Affairs Division and the University’s Human Resources Office.

Amy Weinstein, Assistant Director/Technology Manager has been assisting Liberal Arts and Business majors with Career Advising for over 15 years.  Amy has worked in Career Services Offices at the University of Rhode Island and the University of San Francisco.  She has also worked as a University Relations Recruiter for AMD Corporation, a high-tech firm located in Silicon Valley.

Amy has a Master of Science degree in Career Counseling from San Francisco State University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.  Amy works primarily with Liberal Arts majors at Bryant and enjoys helping students realize that “you can choose almost any career path” with a Liberal Arts degree.

As Manager of Employer Outreach & Development, Pat Miernicki’s role is to promote Bryant University and its students to prospective employers for the purpose of developing new opportunities for internships and full time positions that meet the diverse career interest of Bryant University students.

Pat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Public Administration with a minor in History and Women’s Studies from Long Island University.  Pat brings 15 years of experience as a development officer, most recently at Bryant University and formerly at Providence College. 

 

Cathy Doyle, General Mills Employer in Residence, has spent over twenty five years working in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry, most recently as a Regional Sales Manager for General Mills In- Store Bakeries division.

Cathy’s career background in sales management and customer development encompasses a variety of cross functional areas, such as marketing, management, consumer insights, business analysis, customer service, and trade financing.

A native New Yorker, Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island. She currently serves on the leadership committee of the Network of Executive Women in New England where she launched pilot College Outreach and Mentoring Programs.

Cathy is thrilled to be volunteering as an “Employer in Residence” in  the Amica Center for Career Education until December 2012.   She looks forward  to helping students with resumes, interview skills,  personal branding, careers in sales and marketing, and general advice about the consumer goods industry and the world of business. 

Denise Gormley, Internship Assistant, joined the Amica Center in 1995 and has been assisting students and employers in providing quality internships. As the internship assistant Denise coordinates all aspects of experiential learning, assisting the employers, student and faculty in the US and Abroad.

Prior to her internship career she was in the cable television industry in customer service. In her free time she enjoys reading, sewing and power boating on Narragansett Bay.

Yvonne Combies, Office Coordinator, joined the Amica Center for Career Education in July 2003. Prior to working for Bryant University, Yvonne was Assistant to the Head of Upper School, at Moses Brown School in Providence, RI.

Yvonne manages the day to day operations of the Amica Center including assisting the Director and two Assistant Directors with marketing for various workshops, programs and career fairs held during the academic year. Yvonne also supervises the staff of work-study students.

Nancy Friel joined the Amica Center as Recruiting Assistant of the University’s Corporate Recruiting Program in 2000. Her day to day responsibilities include working collaboratively with the Manager of Recruiting . Specifically, Nancy works with graduating seniors and employers.

Prior to coming to Bryant, she worked in the Accounting field in various capacities such as Accounting Supervisor, Controller and Cost Accounting. She attended Rhode Island Junior College (CCRI). In her spare time she enjoys reading and cooking.
