Campus Alcohol Policy

DPS is committed to encouraging and facilitating responsible decision making concerning alcohol.  In attempts to achieve this goal DPS supports state laws, town ordinances, and campus policies pertaining to alcohol. 

Students who are under the age of 21 may not possess or drink alcoholic beverages. Because Residence Halls 14 & 15 house only students under the age of 21, no alcoholic beverages are permitted in Residence Halls 14 &15, or any other designated first-year area.

  • Students over the age of 21 may consume alcohol in the privacy of their residence hall rooms.
  • Students may consume alcohol in their suite lounges/common areas only when all residents of the suite are 21 or over.
  • Large quantities of alcohol, including kegs, beer balls, etc. are expressly prohibited.
  • Common containers (i.e. punch bowls) are not allowed.
  • Approved Social Gatherings in the residence halls must be alcohol-free.
  • The only entity permitted to sell alcohol on the Bryant Campus is Campus Dining
  • Consumption of alcohol outside is prohibited regardless of age except at University-sponsored events
