BankingWe recommend that you carry only small amount of money to travel to the U.S. and open checking accounts as soon as possible at banks nearby Bryant campus. While we do not recommend any particular banking institution, below you will find a list of the banks closest to Bryant campus and some of the services available to students. As you may know that you will need to have funds available in order to open a checking account. If you will be making a deposit with an overseas check or a bank draft, you should expect a delay of days or weeks until the money is available to you. Be sure to discuss it with a bank representative as you consider opening an account. You do not need a Social Security number to open a bank account. The bank may ask you to fill out Internal Revenue Service Form W-8BEN to prove that you are exempt from the requirement of providing a Social Security number.
