Bryant University. The Character of Success

The Judicial Process

The Bryant University Student Handbook Student Code of Conduct outlines the policies, procedures, rights and responsibilities of all Bryant students. The Office of Residence Life is responsible for enforcing these codes to ensure the safety and comfort of all members of the Bryant community.

Violations of the Student Code of Conduct are addressed through an official University judicial process:

  • RAs (Resident Assistants) or other University officials document details of the violation and information about any student involvement. This assigns no responsibility to the student(s) but offers an objective account of the events that occurred.
  • A hearing officer who is a professional staff member will meet with the student(s) involved, determine any responsibility for the violation, and assign an appropriate sanction.

To learn more about the judicial process, please refer to the Student Handbook.

The intention of the University in the judicial process is to help students evaluate their behavior and make better choices for themselves. Specific information about parental notification and the Buckley Amendment can also be found in the Student Handbook.
