Bryant University. The Character of Success

Campus Events

Bryant University offers a rich campus life, with an array of events held throughout the year that brings the entire community together. Weekly activities include movies, comedians, karaoke, and games.

More information is available on the Bryant Events Calendar.

Major annual events include:

Bryant@Night
A campus wide initiative, Bryant@Night is a series of late night programs hosted from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The events are designed to enhance campus life at Bryant and provide a safe, alcohol free environment for students.

Opening Weekend

The program allows first-year students to move into the Residence Halls a few days early and take part in events to introduce them to the campus and each other. The weekend is run with the help of 24 current students serving as Bulldog Leaders. Bulldog Leaders are selected to undergo extensive training and planning to give the best possible welcome experience that any campus has to offer. They are available to answer questions, help with the move in process, familiarize students with college life, and make the weekend experience one filled with fun and relaxation.

Club and Organization Fairs

At the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters, clubs and organizations come together for the Club and Organization Fair! Held on the Bryant Center Lawn or in the Rotunda, each club and organization has the opportunity to meet first year students, transfers, or students who are looking to get involved in our over 90 clubs and organizations!

Festival of Lights

Each December for the past 34 years, the campus has come together for a non-denominational service to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. The event is sponsored by the Center for Student Involvement and Student Alumni Association.

Homecoming/Reunion

Each year Bryant welcomes alumni and friends back to campus for a weekend of activities to reconnect and reminisce. Activities and events are held throughout the weekend to be able to allow current students to connect with alumni. A highlight of the weekend is tailgating at a Bryant Bulldogs football game. The weekend is sponsored by the Center for Student Involvement and Alumni Relations.

Orientation

In June, Student Affairs coordinates a two-day program for incoming students and their parents and guardians. Orientation introduces students and their families to the campus and provides a better idea of the programs Bryant offers. Trained Bryant students serve as leaders for all of the events. Orientation Leaders (OL’s) are a team of 17 students who run the four, two-day Orientation sessions for incoming students. OL’s apply and are selected during the Fall semester and train during the Spring semester and summer to lead programs that welcome our first year students, giving a much more in-depth look for both students and parents about life at Bryant University, the issues surrounding the start of your college experience, and to ease concerns before move-in in September.

Parents & Family Weekend

Planned in conjunction with the Student Senate, this program welcomes parents, guardians, and family members to the campus. The weekend held each October, is coordinated by students and allows families to see the campus in full swing.

Rhode Island Special Olympics

For the past 31 years, the Student Senate and the Center for Student Involvement has hosted the Northern Rhode Island Special Olympics each May. Students come together to direct, plan, and promote this event as well as support the teams of athletes during this day-long program.

Spring Weekend

Each year before final exams, the Center for Student Involvement and the Student Programming Board plan a weekend of activities that includes a major performance on Saturday night.
