Bryant University. The Character of Success

Message from J. Thomas Eakin

Vice President for Student Affairs
and Dean of Students

Bryant University is dedicated to creating a student-centered learning community that offers personalized attention in and out of the classroom. To complement the rigorous academic programs, the University's co-curricular activities expose students to a variety of experiences and ideas that can lead to new interests and passions.

We encourage each student to become involved in the rich campus life available at Bryant. The staff in Student Affairs work closely with students to develop programs that enhance the community. The happiest and most successful students are those who participate and challenge themselves to try something different. Whether students join a group or attend different functions, there are plenty of opportunities to build friendships as well as build important professional skills.

This community is guided by principles articulated in the Bryant Pledge, a code of conduct that is shared commitment among students, staff, and faculty.

Bryant University is an educationally purposeful community - a place where faculty, staff, and students work together to strengthen teaching and learning on campus.

The campus is a place where high standards of civility are set and violations are challenged. Bryant University is a community whose members speak and listen carefully to each other.

  • Bryant University is a place where the sacredness of each person is honored and where diversity is aggressively pursued.
  • Bryant University clearly states both its academic and social expectations. All must accept their obligations as citizens of the Bryant community and expect to be held accountable for behavior as individuals and members of groups.
  • The University is a caring community where the well-being of each member is supported and where service to others is encouraged.
  • The campus finds opportunities to affirm both tradition and change.
Orientation, Convocation, Homecoming, Commencement, and other activities are examples of celebratory activities that are part of the Bryant tradition.

We are here to support and challenge each of our students, and help each individual accomplish his or her academic, personal, and professional aspirations. Bryant provides a solid foundation that our graduates continue to build on long after graduation. That is our commitment to you.

Sincerely,

J. Thomas Eakin
