We are open during the academic year Monday Through Friday from 9m to 5pm, except for Holidays Or call us at 401-232-6854, our fax number is 401-232-6368 Gertrude Hochberg Meth Women's Center - Staff Director Toby Simon joined the Gertrude Meth Hochberg Women's Center in 2003, bringing 20 years of health education experience to Bryant. Toby developed a national model for sexual assault and sexual harassment peer education at Brown University. She has also developed programs on eating disorders, alcohol and drug use, mental health concerns for women, and gender issues. For the past nine years, she has worked on women's health initiatives in rural Haiti. In addition, she has taught Human Sexuality courses at Brown and Marymount Manhattan and is the author of numerous articles on the subjects of sexuality, sexual assault, and the connection between alcohol and sexual behavior. She is also a consultant on sexual harassment and assault at a variety of colleges and organizations, including the US Air Force Academy, The American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association. At Bryant Toby is an instructor in the first year course, Foundations for Learning. She is the advisor of Bryant's Alliance for Women's Awareness, and works closely with other student organizations on campus such as Pride and Hillel. Carolina Bogaert joined the center as Administrative Assistant in 2005. Prior to coming to Bryant she worked at the RI Community Food Bank as a Customer Service Manager. At the Women's Center Carolina provides a number of important functions: coordinating events, greeting visitors, handling the administrative aspects of the center, supervising student workers, and yes, she is also responsible for managing the Women's Center's web-site, so now you know who to contact if you have any suggestions in regards to our site :)
The Center is also supported by the following work-study students: Sherri Lowe is a senior at Bryant University, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She is the president of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and this is her second year working in the Hochberg Women’s Center. She is also a member of the President's Senior Advisory Council and the chair of the Black History Month Committee of MSU for the past two years. It excites her to learn more about different topics impacting women. To email Sherri: slowe1@bryant.edu Islindy Merius is a Junior at Bryant, majoring in Sociology Service Learning with a double minor in Business Administration and Legal studies. She is the vice-president of the Multi-Cultural Student Union in addition, she is in charge of this year's production of Extravaganza, as well as being a veteran Vagina Warrior. This is her second year working in the Gertrude Meth Hochberg Women's Center. Islindy has a great interest in the study of Women including the history of women & the roles women play in society. To email Islindy: imerius@bryant.edu Rocina Dalzell Rocina Dalzell is a junior majoring in Sociology Service Learning, with a double minor in Business Administration and Human Resources. She is a part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed (FOTU), the Student Arts and Speaker Series (SASS), and the vice president of the Alliance for Women’s Awareness (AWA). Rocina has always been an avid advocate for women’s issues especially that of women who are infected and/or affected by HIV. She has worked with the Hochberg Women Center since 2010. Rocina is an empowered Christian woman who asserts her voice for her faith and women’s advocacy.
