Welcome to Bryant Orientation
iBryant 2009: Get Connected!
First and foremost, welcome and CONGRATULATIONS to all of you, the newest members of our community, the Class of 2013. Senior year is coming to a close and I am sure you are anxious to begin your college experience. This summer, you will get your first taste of that experience at Orientation. Four years from now, you won't be looking back on high school memories anymore -- rather, you will be reflecting on your time at Bryant -- and that time begins in June!
Orientation is a two-day program that introduces you to Bryant and all it has to offer. In essence, this is your first opportunity to really delve into the Bryant culture and see what our community is all about. Not only will you meet administrators and faculty members, but you will also be exposed to a plethora of ideas and advice on making the most of your first year here at Bryant.

As we, your Orientation Leaders, try to prepare you for your experiences here, we hope you are open to new ideas and stepping out of your comfort zone. Orientation is one of my favorite memories at Bryant, both attending it in 2006 and being part of the staff in 2008. This is my second year working with Orientation and I can assure you that, from months of training, this year's Orientation Leaders are well-prepared to answer any and all questions that parents or students may have concerning the first year transition. We have specifically created and improved this Orientation program to prepare you and your family for life at Bryant and the amazing opportunities you'll find here.
I know that leaving home for college can be an emotionally straining time for some, while others may be itching to get out of their home towns. Either way, feelings of excitement and nervousness are common and you are not alone! Coming from a graduating class of 91 students, I was very nervous about Orientation. By the time I left, however, I felt like I was already an accepted and critical part of the Bryant community -- and I hope you all will feel this as well.
It is our responsibility and pleasure to make sure that this year's Orientation is as good as it can be, and with your positive attitudes and excitement, I can assure you it will be two days to always remember. Parents and students alike will find this program so beneficial to making the transition from high school to college. I am excited to welcome you once again, the Class of 2013, to Bryant University, and on behalf of the entire Orientation Staff, we look forward to seeing you in June...
