Susan R. Baran

Susan Baran spent 20 years in television and radio broadcasting before she began teaching. She worked in numerous markets including Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, and New York as a producer, writer, reporter, and anchor. Susan focused her graduate studies in the growing field of Media Literacy. She developed the media literacy curriculum at Bryant and is an active member of the National Association of Media Literacy Education. Susan also instructs on media literacy topics for external programs such as OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at the University of Rhode Island. She is the co-author of Introduction to Human Communication: Perception, Meaning, and Identity, Oxford University Press. Susan received the Excellence in Teaching Award, 2017-2018.
