Jeffry Vendetti '16 MBA: Certificate in business analytics a "perfect entrée" to grad school
Jeffry Vendetti has always known that the business world is where he wants to be, but he hasn’t always been sure what his precise niche would look like until now. In August, Vendetti completed Bryant’s Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics (GCBA)—one of the first students to participate in this new initiative—and he’s now pursuing his MBA at Bryant. “I love analytics and that’s definitely the area I want to specialize in,” Vendetti says, “but I believe I’ll be much more effective in my approach if I have in-depth knowledge of how business works, so I’m getting my MBA as well.”
"The faculty brings a personal touch to the educational experience.”
Vendetti was in his final year of undergraduate study at Dean College when he heard about Bryant’s GCBA program through an on-campus presentation by Linda Barringer, Assistant Director of Graduate Admission for the College of Business. “I knew that I wanted to pursue my MBA,” Vendetti says, “and the certificate program seemed like the perfect entrée to the graduate school environment.” A little over eight months later, he has his certificate in hand and a host of new knowledge about data analytics methods and tools.
Now Vendetti is focused on completing the MBA program and applying his new skills in the workforce, possibly in the non-profit sector. He currently works part-time for the Spina Bifida Association and finds the job a perfect fit for his skills and interests: hands-on data analysis and membership in a small, cohesive unit, which he enjoys.
The personal, hands-on approach was a big factor in Vendetti’s choice of Bryant as well. “I visited the school before enrolling and really liked the atmosphere. The faculty brings a personal touch to the educational experience, which I find very appealing. Studying analytics with Professor Olinsky and Professor Glass was a phenomenal experience—they make sure you know what to do and how to do it. All the professors at Bryant have been a great help in advancing my knowledge.”
