Former Navy SEAL will share leadership insights
“Leadership is … about creating value. Everybody is a follower and a leader; we just fill different roles at different times,” says Jeff Boss, a motivational speaker, executive coach, and author of Navigating Chaos: How to Find Uncertainty in Uncertain Times and Managing the Mental Game: How to Think More Effectively, Navigate Uncertainty, and Build Mental Fortitude.
Boss will present “Leadership: Finding your Focus for Success,” beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the Stepan Grand Hall of the George E. Bello Center for Information and Technology. It is open to the entire Bryant community. Boss will speak with select groups of students, faculty, and staff in more focused settings throughout the day, including separate sessions with Provost Glenn M. Sulmasy, J.D., LL.M., and members of the Academic Affairs leadership team, and with Women in Leadership students.
His extraordinary experiences – as a leader and a follower – are noteworthy. During his 13-year tenure as a Navy SEAL, he earned four Bronze Stars with valor, two Purple Hearts, two Presidential Unit Citations, and six Combat Action Ribbons. He was a member of SEAL Team 6, also called the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, the SEALs’ highest level.
The visit is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the College of Business, with additional support from a grateful Bryant alumnus.
