New National Alumni Council members announced

Bryant's National Alumni Council (NAC) strives to:

  • Represent to the Administration and the Board of Trustees the opinions and recommendations of the alumni
  • Establish Regional Alumni Networks in various areas and through all available mediums of association to encourage alumni to participate
  • Assist Regional Alumni Networks in developing and maintaining leadership and following guidelines for operation
  • Encourage support of the University by alumni and others as it carries out its mission and purpose
  • Provide and promote initiatives such as career networking, job placement, student recruitment, and volunteer service
  • Research, evaluate, monitor, and recommend programs and services

At the last meeting, the NAC voted in three new members. They are:

Lavalla-NAC Kevin Lavalla ’78, finance major and varsity athlete (RI)

Lavalla is a member and founder of advisory firm Lavalla & Brown, LLC, which specializes in building the law practices of some of the world's largest law firms through mergers and recruiting attorneys. He has been recognized as an accomplished legal recruiter, achieving membership in the Executive Club, All Star Club, Superstar Club, and the Elite Club for recruiting.

An accomplished investment banker and private equity investor with over 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, Lavalla is recognized for his significant role in the consolidation of the media & communications industries. He holds his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. He completed transactions involving some of the world's largest media companies with an aggregate transaction value exceeding $3 billion. 

Lavalla is a Charter Member of the Bryant University President’s Leadership Counsel; a supporter of the Partners-In-Scholarship Program; a mentor, judge, and moderator at various Bryant events; and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.

An avid traveler, having been to each of the 50 states, he is a supporter of Special Olympics and is a Special Olympic coach for teams that include his son, Bryce. Lavalla and Bryce often attend various Bryant sporting events, both home and away. As a NAC member, Lavalla will provide a  local voice at regional and campus events and will help forge athletic committee and career connections.

Sean T. Kenny ’98, marketing major (FL) Kenny-NAC

Sean T. Kenny is a Client Partner within Tribridge - Business Consulting. Prior to his current role, he was a Practice Manager for the Dynamics AX Practice.

Kenny has more than fifteen years of business consulting experience in the areas of business transformation, project management, design, and implementation of complex projects. He has been an industry speaker and published multiple times on the topic of business transformation through technology.

He has resided with his family in South Florida since 2003 and enjoys participating in the Regional Alumni Network events in Florida, including marching with fellow Bryant alumni in the Naples (FL) St. Patrick's Day Parade. Kenny's son, Brendan, is looking forward to attending Bryant some day and dressing up as the costumed Tupper for events. He is a founding member of Go Givers International.

Kenny was a student leader on campus and has been increasingly active with our East Coast Florida network. He will be helpful with the marketing committee and also as a voice for alumni who live some distance from campus. 

Moore-NAC Matt Moore ’09, finance major (CT)

After graduating from Bryant in 2009 as a Finance and Marketing major, Moore joined The Hartford’s Financial Leadership Development program.

He is now a Senior Underwriter within The Hartford’s National Accounts unit. Upon moving to Hartford, CT, Moore joined Connecticut’s Regional Alumni Network to remain involved with Bryant and eventually became chair of the committee. 

While a student at Bryant, he was the President of the Student Alumni Association, Co-Captain of the wrestling team, Executive Board member of the Archway Investment Fund. He graduated from the Honors Program. 

Moore has provided leadership for the CT RAN for the last several years, and has made a strong effort to attend almost all events and to increase activity beyond the Hartford area.
