Catching the business bug in nation’s capital

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Dec. 14, 2011) — Seeing a tweet like this can make a person sit up and take notice:

Harris Roberts '14 of Farmington, Maine, was tweeting from his hotel in Washington, D.C. He was one of approximately 100 college students from around the country who had been selected to attend a White House event focusing on entrepreneurship.

He left the day-long event with a network of mentors, a headful of practical advice, a handful of internship offers, a reading list and an entrepreneurial spark:

The event, organized by the Young Entrepreneur Council as part of the Obama administration's celebration of National Entrepreneurship Month, featured a panel of entrepreneurs 30 or younger who are generating buzz in the business world.
