Classical guitarist Rupert Boyd, cellist Laura Metcalf to perform at Bryant on Nov. 4
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University and the President’s Cultural Series present "Rupert Boyd and Laura Metcalf in Concert" on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. in Janikies Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Boyd, a New York-based Australian classical guitarist, is acclaimed as one of the most talented guitarists of his generation and described by The Washington Post as “truly evocative,” and by Classical Guitar Magazine as “a player who deserves to be heard.” He regularly performs as half of The Australian Guitar Duo with Jacob Cordover.
Metcalf, noted for her "gorgeous cello legatos" (Washington Post) and her “sensitive, melodic touch” (BlogCritics Magazine) enjoys an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and teacher. She is the cellist with the acclaimed string quintet Sybarite5.
General admission is $20. Smithfield residents may receive two complimentary tickets per household (additional tickets are $20 each). Tickets for non-Bryant students and teachers are $10 with a school I.D. Tickets for Bryant alumni are $10 if reserved in advance ($15 on concert night).
