Retailers push aggressive deals to lure stingy holiday shoppers
This Washington Post article about “aggressive” holiday season deals already being offered by retailers includes comments from Teresa McCarthy, associate professor of marketing.
“Historically, retailers started Black Friday with tremendous amounts of inventory, hoping to blow through it all,” McCarthy, director of Bryant's Global Supply Chain Management program, told the Post. “Now they’re starting earlier so they can find out very quickly exactly what’s going to sell while they still have time to get back-up goods shipped from China.”
