Practicum

International Business Practicum is a capstone course for IB majors in which students operate as consultants for clients. You'll identify, analyze and design market entry, development, and competitive strategies for new global markets.

About this Program

Graduates of the International Business program develop a strong theoretical and practical foundation in international business. Our extensive, internationally focused coursework in both business and liberal arts provides the global perspective that is critical to succeed in the global business arena.

The required foreign language minor and global travel, with required internship, further equip students with the skills needed to succeed by immersing them in a different culture and language.

Bryant’s IB program is one of the few in the country that offers concentrations in business functions, providing students with the breadth of international business and the depth of a specific business field. During their senior year, students act as consultants for a regional or multinational company to solve a real international business challenge for their clients.

International Business majors are required to concentrate in a functional area of business:

You will also choose a minor in a foreign language. Our most popular are Spanish, French, and Italian.

The IB Semester Abroad is a key component of the Bryant International Business Program. Equipped with a sound foundation in international business and foreign language, IB students spend a semester studying and interning abroad during their junior year.

The IB Semester Abroad kicks off with a faculty‐led program, exploring local businesses and organizations and discussing the latest international business cases and events in the context of the host country—immersing students in the history, language, and culture of their new home for the months to come. Students may live on a campus, or choose to more fully immerse with a host family in their country of study.

The minor in International Business cultivates a global perspective in students, contributing to achieving their personal best in life and business. Through a combination of one required course and three electives, minors will develop a broader and deeper understanding of the issues faced by companies engaged in international business, as well as the application of business theory and concepts to common problems faced by these businesses.

Consider the IB minor for a second minor if you are a business student, or a minor if you are a major in the arts and sciences or health and behavioral sciences.
