Ryan M Sonder

Ryan M. Sonder, Lecturer with the Department of History, Literature, and the Arts, received his Ph.D. in Humanities from Salve Regina University in 2018. Recipient of the University's Excellence in Teaching Award, Professor Sonder's pedagogy remains deeply committed to fostering interdisciplinary, innovative, and joyful learning communities in seminars such as Contemporary Literature, Introduction to the Environmental Humanities, Philosophy of Technology, and The Image of Business in Literature. His current research explores the intersections of studies in technology, the environmental humanities, and critical pedagogy. In addition to his teaching and research, Sonder has held the position of Associate Faculty Fellow with The Center for Teaching Excellence and chaired the College of Arts and Sciences' Pedagogy and Faculty Development Initiative. He co-advises the University chapter of Delta Alpha Pi (International Honors Society for Students with Disabilities) and Board Member of the New England Faculty Development Consortium.
