Ryan M. Sonder, Lecturer with the Department of History, Literature, and the Arts, received his Ph.D. in Humanities from Salve Regina University in 2018. Recipient of the University's Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022, Professor Sonder's pedagogy remains deeply committed to fostering interdisciplinary, innovative, and joyful learning communities in seminars such as Narrative Theory, Contemporary Literature, Composition, Studies in Nonfiction, Topics in Environmental Humanities, and The Image of Business in Literature. His current research explores the intersections of game studies, critical pedagogy, and environmental studies. In addition to his teaching and research, Sonder has held the position of Associate Faculty Fellow with The Center for Teaching Excellence and chairs the College of Arts and Science's Pedagogy and Faculty Development Initiative. He co-advises the University chapter of Delta Alpha Pi (International Honors Society for Students with Disabilities), serves on the IDEA and Day of Understanding leadership teams, and continues to advocate for equity-centered and justice-oriented education across campus.
