Physician Assistant Studies Program

As the demand for qualified healthcare professionals continues to grow in our home state of Rhode Island, Bryant University is committed to training outstanding physician assistants who can provide competent, patient-centered care across our community. To accomplish this, our Physician Assistant Studies program grants guaranteed interviews to Bryant undergraduate students who meet the admissions criteria. Pending a successful interview, two seats per year are reserved for qualified Bryant undergraduates to the PA program.

About This Program

Bryant’s integrated health sciences curriculum will prepare you for a variety of careers, whether you want to be a clinician providing patient care, a researcher studying vaccine efficacy, or a public health communication expert. Through an interdisciplinary study of the biological and biomedical sciences, communication, and psychology, you’ll gain a comprehensive and holistic perspective of human health and the factors that impact health disparities. You’ll also learn the basics of research methods, data collection, and analysis.

Health sciences majors will focus their studies in one of three program tracks:

General Health Sciences
Behavioral Health
Health Promotion

Our unique emphasis on interdisciplinary study and tailored tracks, combined with personalized mentorship from Bryant’s expert faculty members, will give you the opportunity to explore different professions throughout the healthcare sector.

As a health sciences major, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on an independent research project or as a research assistant in one of Bryant’s state-of-the-art laboratories. Just a few of Bryant’s research opportunities include:

Developing antibacterial compounds that hold promise in the fight against drug-resistant bacterial infections.
Investigating measures to combat vaccine hesitancy through improved health communication strategies.
Dissecting and mapping neural mechanism in fruit flies to better understand the underlying causes of addiction.

Additionally, Bryant’s Physician Assistant Studies program grants guaranteed interviews to Bryant undergraduate students who meet the admissions criteria. PA programs include competitive and rigorous requirements. As a health sciences major, you’ll be well-positioned with the courses and experience you need to pursue your MSPAS degree. Pending a successful interview, two seats per year are reserved for qualified Bryant undergraduates to the PA program.
