Kylie Truong ’23 always knew she wanted to be a marketing major, but thanks to Bryant’s supportive professors, focus on career success, and student engagement opportunities, she also found a passion for finance and is now ready to start her career.
Why did you choose Bryant?
When I was looking for colleges, I really wanted a strong business program, because I knew I wanted to be a marketing major. What I love about Bryant is that the classes are small enough where the professors know my name and will call on me in class to participate. I’m able to go to their office hours and ask questions about the class and their careers, and also gain some hands-on mentoring.
How has Bryant prepared you for the future?
I’ll be a financial analyst at Dell Technologies in their financial development program. I really feel like Bryant prepared me for the next chapter of my life. Bryant has given me the tools and resources I need to get internships at a professional level. As a student, I was able to complete three different internships at three different companies.
What are a few highlights of your Bryant experience?
I like being able to connect with other students with the same academic interests. As the president of the Bryant University chapter of the American Marketing Association, it’s an honor to lead such a prestigious group of students, network with employers and recruiters, and transfer those skills from the classroom into a student organization. We bring speakers from different companies, like the Boston Celtics or Fidelity Investments, and nonprofit institutions as well, to give students the opportunity to learn more about marketing and see if it’s the right fit for them.
I also represented Bryant at the National Collegiate Sales Competition in Georgia. We competed against the top sales programs in the U.S. in an elimination-style competition. Bryant placed 8 out of 72.
What’s your favorite place on campus?
One of my favorite places is the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Everybody is friendly, and it gives me a chance to connect with other multicultural students and learn about what they’re doing in classes and chat about our daily lives.
What advice would you give to future Bulldogs?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. People are always here to help and guide you. The Bryant community is supportive every step of the way.
